Our mission, vision and core values guide a wide array of events and programs designed to raise funds for HIV/AIDS and GLBT service agencies in the Reno/Tahoe Metropolitan area as well as throughout Northern Nevada.

 The ReNO AIDS Community Task Force™  is a group of volunteers, business, community and faith leaders who have joined forces to actively  raise awareness and community activism in creative and innovative ways while generating funds for HIV/AIDS service organizations and to support our common cause- the fight against HIV/AIDS.  We strive to inspire our community to become ambassadors in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

 As we enter our fifth year of fundraising we have built upon our reputation as a leader and title sponsor of events which have raised thousands of dollars for various agencies including our latest annual events PRIDE REINVENTED™  for A Rainbow Place ($935.00 in August of 2006 )and  Gucci’s Red Carpet Party™  for the Northern Nevada Outreach Team ($1,100.00 in July of 2007).   Our members have also provided free catering service through Deli Lama’s™ Bite Me™  Hot Dogs and Groupie Grub, to not for profit agencies and events.  The ReNO AIDS Community Task Force™ is also title sponsor of annual events such as H2O Lake Tahoe™ and   Rehab at the Betty Ford ™.

Vision Statement

The ReNO AIDS Community Task Force ™ will provide a compassionate and collaborative response to the needs of people infected, affected and at risk of HIV/AIDS.  This is accomplished through leadership in fundraising, advocacy, capacity building and the collaborative participation of consumers, sponsors, donors, social service professionals, agencies, volunteers, government and others.

The ReNO AIDS Community Task Force™ is guided by principles that epitomize effective nonprofit management and business leadership with goal orientated outcomes.  They include the following:

Service to people living with and at risk of HIV infection will always be our highest priority.  Funds raised by The ReNO AIDS Community Task Force™ for local service HIV/AIDS service organizations are designed to promote optimal independence, self-reliance, health and well-being, in a manner that respects a diversity of cultures and identities, and that upholds the inherent dignity of every individual. 

Transparency informs all aspects of operations and financial management of the organization.  As an agency providing funding to local HIV/AIDS service organizations, we strive to make accessible all allowable information about The ReNO AIDS Community Task Force™ funded organizations and, their programs, events, services and its administration.

Accountability to the general public and to our specific donors is a fundamental watchword of agency management.  We believe that every interested party- service consumer, sponsor, the public sector, individual donors, and others- have the right to know how their dollars are spent, how their contributions are managed, how their input is utilized, and how services are implemented by funded agencies.

Efficiency is a natural consequence of accountability.  Contributors to our mission have the right to be assured that their contributions are being utilized efficiently.  The ReNO AIDS Community Task Force™  reviews all costs and implements cost-saving measures that will not compromise core events, programs or services of funded agencies.

Leadership and Innovation.  Primarily as a fund raising agency, The ReNO AIDS Community Task Force™  has a responsibly to provide leadership, and to implement innovative approaches to raising funds.  Accordingly The ReNO AIDS Community Task Force™  develops programming and events with widespread impact, and is viewed as a careful innovator of new ideas and strategies for fundraising.
